Louisville Slugger 1950-1960
Center brand features oval with “Louisville Slugger”, “125”, “Hillerich & Bradsby Co”, “Made in USA”, and “Louisville KY” inside. Under the oval is “Reg. US Pat Off”. Powerized is to the right of the brand. The model number is on the knob of the bat.
Louisville Slugger 1961-1964
The “125” inside the center brand oval was repositioned during the 1961-64 period. The “2” is directly over the “&” in “Hillerich & Bradsby”.
Louisville Slugger 1965-1968
In 1965 a registered trademark “®” was added after the R in Slugger. The “Reg. U.S. Pat Off.” was removed from the bat. The model number is still on the knob.
Louisville Slugger 1969-1972
The only change for 1969 was that the curve of the “P” crosses over the vertical line in the “P”.
Louisville Slugger 1973-1975
In 1973-75 the center brand oval featured “125”, “Louisville Slugger” in the middle with “Hillerich & Bradsby” “Made in U.S.A.” on the bottom part of the oval. There is a register trademark logo “®” below the end of the word “Louisville”. There is also one above the “d” in “Powerized”.
Louisville Slugger 1976
The 1976 bats had “Louisville Slugger®”,”125″, “Hillerich & Bradsby Co”, “Made in U.S.A.”, and “Louisville, KY.” inside oval. There is a special Bi-Centennial logo to the right of the oval were “Powerized” was. The model number is moved from the knob to the barrel. The model number is followed by “Genuine” on game used bats.
Louisville Slugger 1977-1979
In 1977 “Genuine” and the model number remained on the barrel. Inside the center brand oval “Louisville Slugger®”,”125″, “Hillerich & Bradsby Co”, “Made in U.S.A.”, and “Louisville, KY.” “Poweized” to the right of the oval with the “®” above the “d”. The bats from 1979 were the last to feature Hillerich & Bradsby on the centerbrand.
Louisville Slugger 1980-1983
During the 1980-83 era the oval centerbrand features a large 4.5″ across “Louisville Slugger” with the “®” below the “e” in Louisville. Above this is “125” inside the oval. The model number is on the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 1984-1985
The bats from this era feature a slightly smaller 3.5″ “Louisville Slugger” in the center brand oval. Above this is “125” and “Louisville, Kentucky” “Made in U.S.A.” below. There is still a “®” under the “e” in Louisville. However there is no “®” after the “Louisville Slugger” on the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 1986-1989
The Louisville Slugger center brands feature the 3.5″ “Louisville Slugger”. Above this is “125” and “Louisville, Kentucky” “Made in U.S.A.” below. There is still a “®” under the “e” in Louisville. In 1986 they also added the registered trademark logo “®” after “Louisville Slugger” on the player signature area of the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 1990
The 1990 Louisville Slugger center brand is the same as it has been the last few years but the “Louisville Slugger” letters are closer together. Another difference about the 1990 Louisville Slugger’s is that the “Louisville Slugger®” was removed from the player signature area of the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 1991-1997
In 1991 the team name started appearing under the player signature on the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 1997-1998
The only notable change for the center brands in 97-98 is that the lettering in the center brand is not so compressed.
Louisville Slugger 1999-2001
In 1999 Louisville Slugger started adding the MLB logo to the barrel between “powerized” and the player signature area of the barrel.
Louisville Slugger 2001-2004
There were a couple different variations of Louisville slugger branding used on the game used bats from the later part of 2001 till 2004. The MLB logo was moved to the back of the barrel. The bats made of maple featured an “M9” logo to the right of the Louisville Slugger center brand. “Rock Hard Maple” is also beneath the oval.
Louisville Slugger 2004-2008
In 2004 Louisville Slugger started using a smaller oval on the centerbrand. Everything else is the same as the previous years. In 2005 they started using beech wood for some bats. These bats have a “B9” between the center brand oval and “Powerized”. Under the oval it is labeled “Pro Beech”.
Louisville Slugger 2009
The Louisville Slugger 125 year anniversary logo is between the center brand and the player signature area of the barrel. They also started using a larger oval again on the center brand.
